Children love to play in the snow. The City is concerned for their safety. We are asking parents to make sure that their children do not play on the snow piles along streets. As the heavy equipment is moving the snow, kids could be injured by the equipment AND the snow as it is thrown over. Children can also get injured by other vehicles as they are playing along the street. Please make sure your children play well back from the street.
Another snow safety issue is the building of snow caves. If a snow cave falls in – it is difficult to find the child without injury. The snow pile along the street is tempting to build for caves also. Please make it a priority to speak with your children about the dangers of snow caves.
Playing in the snow is fun – let’s make sure it stays that way!
